Well I made my trip down this past Thursday to my favourite East Trib. I took a pit stop at another usual busy spot. There wasnt many anglers there but I prefer the calm and quiet. One spot on guy gave us nearly half his Roe to start up.
We show up at the trib at about 1400hrs near the mouth and start setting up. My two friends that drove down with me went off to pick up some food for us. There was one other angler on the river. Water was murky and very high and flowing fast from the rains the night before. Not too much surface action but you could tell they were there. Water was too fast for a float so I throw on one of the new Jointed Rapalas as suggested by OFF forms. Fire Tire.
I struck GOLD. Second cast out, bang, hits it hard and goes on a run. At this point im alone at the mouth, and my buddies are out. Im trying to call them with my cell to get their arse back there to help me land it. 10 mins go by and they show up and we land the fish.
I caught another one within 20 mins. My friends were not as lucky. One lost 4 lures all J11's in Firetiger. We finally take a trip to the local CT to stock up on lures. We come back and within 15 mins they were gone again. I had to oversee how they were attaching the lures. We make another trip back to CT.
Met salmotrutta and chatted for a bit.
We landed a total of 7 Chinny's ranging from 13-20lbs. I even hooked an 14 inch Atlantic Salmon. Man are they gorgeous.
The rest of the evening was slow. We fished all night with not much action. I met another OFF'r who kindly returned on of the J11's that we lost battling the fish. I didn't catch your name, but thank you much. Come dawn the action picked up again.
I caught this one on that J11 that was returned.
Between the three of us we landed 7 of 19 fish that we had on.. What a great trip!
We landed one Chinny with one of the lures still in its mouth.
The tail of the lure was broken off when we landed it.

@pump camping out would actually require sleeping. There was no sleeping just finishing for 24hrs straight.

His first chiny ever landed after a few years of going.

It's interesting how they weren't hitting roe at all...
I think its because of the water color and maybe they are not in the spawning mood yet. they are still aggressive and still feeding.
