It's been a while. Dirty boot, but a hell of a fight. First fish of the year for me.

One of the salmon I've caught recently. Been getting into good numbers of fish off the piers. I've caught salmon well over 40" close to 45" in previous years. This one was over 36" (size 13 boot for reference) and peeled drag like a mofo - my longest of the year. For those who may be interested, I may do a couple of guided outings for pier salmon. Gear would be supplied by me if you don't have the proper rod/reel/line/lures. If you're interested PM me.

Sweet catch and a spoon chucking outing sounds like a awesome idea.

A dead pinky and a steel! someone is fishing my native waters!
I went out in search of the mythical northern ontario salmon this weekend at a GB trib. The only salmon I saw was a seagull's dinner, and not the kind that I thought I'd see:
turns out it didn't matter, the consolation prize was better Awww yeaa its on

IR4J, does that trib actually get pinks or would you consider that a stray?A dead pinky and a steel! someone is fishing my native waters!

Used to be huge runs, certainly not the numbers that it used to get but there is a definitive run every other year. Id compare it to runs of lake ontario coho, 1 for every 20 other salmonid
Im actually from up north, moved down "east"... I miss it, but try and get back up there as often as possible.
