Hi All,

I wanted to share some catches from the long weekend. I haven't fished too much since spring, so it was great to get out and get into some nice smallies. They were all caught in a small lake about 20 mins outside Owen Sound. I got four on the Sunday after the rain and dark clouds that pushed through, the bite just turned on and couldn't keep them off the hook. I was using a live target small mouth crank, white jig head with 6'' black and chatreuse berkley twister tail and a #4 black fury (chatreuse). On Monday morning it was bright and very warm and I managed to land a few fish but this big beauty (last photo) was the fish of the day, it weighed in at 4.6lbs which is just shy of my PB. I wish I got a better pic but it was a heavy fish. I got this on a texas rigged (cone sinker and red bead) pumkin seed turtle back worm. Equipment: 7ft St croix Med rod with a shimano stradic 2500 and 8lbs mono line or 6'6'' St. croix crank rod with a shimano curado dhsv with 14lbs mono. Hope you enjoy. SMBs. Bass are feeding frenzy...lot's of topwater action lately. Saw a little kids hauled in a 3lb bass on a dollarama popper the other day.

personally, the bass have been slow in the city (GTA) but I've had a lot of success at the cottage and the Owen Sound area. Fishing top water for bass is probably the most exiting way to fish.

Hi guys! Fairly new to this forum. Not sure if the bass are still active in the Kawarthas, but I plan on heading out this (or next) weekend and will let you know how it goes!

Took a trip to the Kawarthas yesterday. Bass action is hot where you can find them in 3-5 ft of water. They are still feeding which is great. Turning up fairly consistent 2-3 lbers. Hope this helps.
