Hey everyone i was wanting to bus over to portperry this week i have never been there this time of year i know there is no ice but would it beworth it i was wanting to do some panfishing like float fishing and fly fishing thanks in advance

I would think there is ice. Not safe ice, but likely skimmed across most of the lake.
Scugog is one of the first lakes to freeze over due to it being shallow.

I catch lots of panfish ice fishing that year with Scugog ice adventures.

Go with an ice fishing charter to ensure safety for ice fishing. The experts will keep you safe. Pay them money. If their tanks and huts don't fall through the ice then you won't fall through the ice. I recommend Scugog ice adventures.

To Quincy: I misread. After ice melts there's a period where there's no weeds on the shoreline and thus no panfish at port perry. Wait for warmer temperatures and weeds to grow in then the panfish will be there. I try it every year. Only saw trumpet swans. Not a single nibble.
