Deciding between steel or residents...help!

Hi Everyone. I have a free day to fish this weekend. If you were me would you try for some late east trib steelhead or fly fish west of the GTA for resident browns and/or brookies? I'm torn...one of those good problems I guess.

having not been able to fish opener as of yet, i'd be happy catching some pumpkinseeds.

To answer your question though, I'd hit some steelhead personally.

Lol N8orDie...look at you and your serious problems...steelhead, you only have probably a week or 2 (possibly 3)as when they're done with the business...they will be back to the big waters...

Resi's..... always resi"s . That being said I go for Steelies when there are in, but main focus is the resi's.

Ha I know, life is hard! I'm leaning toward steelhead too...maybe try a trib with a dam to try steel below in the morning and brookies above in the afternoon

that sounds like a good plan. it's all about the window to fish for steels to me. I live close to a trib so I would go for resis as well but not having a lot of time to go after steels anymore so...whatever I can....anything at the end of my line...i'd take it.

the answer is always resident in my books. steels nice but ive had em all winter. need to change it up

steel for sure before the water warms up and then follow it up stream to the cold water where your resi's will be waiting for you...but I wouldn't go to an east trib...just saying

Do you find resident trout in most tribs or do they tend to be regional? I live east of GTA and haven't made it out yet so hoping there's still something to catch..

I caught bunch of resident rainbows in an eastern lake O trib. All tribs have them, some more than others.
