I just wanted to let everyone know that fishing is prohibited at Mill Pond, Richmond Hill. There was a bit of confusion last week about fishing at this pond and it's been cleared and confirmed with the officials.

I want to give everyone a heads up in case they plan on trying this spot.

mill pond. theres a mill pond in every city man, which one

Oops, I've corrected it, Mill Pond, Richmond Hill. More details are on my blog if interested: wheretofish.ca/blog

I used to fish Mill Pond close to Bathurst & Major Mac...nothing but small bass...carp & koi there. Why even bother when there's other places to fish and better.

Catching a Koi would be pretty cool. I'd drop a line in if I lived close by.

I have already visited 10-15 ponds, and did not find any good one: private property, no fishing, bla bla..

I found one with good size bass - Bond Lake (no sign with "no fishing"), but found it's private property and no fishing is allowed.

I am really disappointed..
Looks like need to drive 100km and more from home (Vaughan) to fish.

I am just wondering if you could PM me and suggest any spot.
Thanks.

a dollar bet says they are goldfish and not kio. we have a problem with them in one of our ponds in London. besides..... kio are worth $$$$$$. in this day and age; do you think anyone would let that much free money float around without grabbing it?

Fish with big orange spots aren't koi?

I was reading by this thread and just to share something, i fished the smaller pond a little north of mill, and to my suprise there was a 10 ish lb super bright colored koi at the end of my carp rig, im pretty sure he/she had whiskers/barbels, i had the pic in my old phone which i cant find anymore, but there should be a few more one that is pure silver and a white one with spots on it, its sad that they closed the place down for fishing

That's actually my picture! lol. OP - you definitely checked with 'officials' right? Because the last time I fished there was a month ago and I had a great time. Would hate to not ever fish there again.
