I am stocking up for a trip to Lake of the Woods.  Will be vertical jigging and going after Lake Trout and Pike in a pretty clear lake.  Was thinking about picking up some of the following.  Thoughts?

1/2 oz pearl jigs topped with frozen minnows

5/8 oz white spoons with silver flashing

3/4 oz 5 diamond spoon

I would add white tube jigs to the list and I would also try tipping the pearl jigs with a paddle tail swim bait

Tube jigs with the eyelet centered are a good bet for vertical jigging. That way they balance and hang horizontally during the pause. You can find them with small rattles built in which I like. The sebile vibrato is a really versatile vertical jigging spoon. Pick one up and give it a try. We do well with them for lakers thru the ice. Jigging raps and snap raps are a safe bet too. Good luck. I've always wanted to fish there. Hear it's epic
