Finally got this after some pencil pikes destroyed two of my soft plastics and took hook and bait off completely on another.

But finally landed one of those bastards when I started chucking a spinner with leader.

fairly routine day on trib. 2 landed and 1 lost. not too big but darn did he fight and put on a show for the dragon boat people beside me. they all asked me to show them the fish after they watched me fight it for 10 to 15 seconds.

went to scugog for the first time as i was somewhat in the neighbourhood. normally too big for my boat but was super calm that day. had no idea water was tea and not gin. not my kind of lake but had to give it a go for the first time.

however, only 1.5 to 3 feet everywhere in this area except the boat traffic channel. and weeds were not the nice healthy ones we all like. it was a tough day. lost a nice one after 5 seconds. had to settle for this dink who hit while i left the craw bait out there while i was texting.

regardless of size, bass are such beautiful fish.

Yeah Scugog is pretty shallow. But there are bass and big ones too. Saw a 6-3/4 Lb smallie caught at a tournament earlier this summer. Also fall Muskie spot if you're into that.

was obscenely hot this weekend and i think that affected the bite big time. did not land a single fish at the peak hot times. the fish i was getting was in the early morning. and even then, i got fewer fish than usual on these two lakes i went to this weekend. and no bigguns!
