Can the 'flies' used typically for fly fishing be used for regular fishing? can i put a 'fly' on my regular fishing pole?

you can, but you need to add weight to your line to be able to cast the fly with conventional gear. see my explanation in your other post

You can use water filled clear bobber and tie the fly.
With regular bobber and weight jigs work better as they stay horizontal.

Three-way swivel with weight on one arm and fly on a leader tied to the other.
If you think about it, fly lure is pretty much a fancy dressed hook.
