I would like to introduce myself to my fish friendly folks here at ontario fishing forums my name is Ahmad I'm 27 years old middle eastern male, I'm living currently here in oshawa ont, north end during high school I played lots of sports including basketball volleyball and soccer but as I aged into my late 20s I became severely depressed and start taking medicine for depression could never seem to get of the slump I was in I progressed and bought my own house here in oshawa and during the weekends now I go fishing to clear my mind from depression and think fishing can do a lot just being with a friend or by yourself can cure some of the symptoms specially if your in a wild life atesmphere I bought a decent rod with a Shimano reel from Canadian tire got my sports licence for fishing for 3 years and I'm going to take my boaters exams as well looking to explore the wonderful nature out here in Ontario my last catch was a lake trout last week which was about 8-10 pounds from Orillia Ontario not going to mention the place because I did read the rules here as a new memeber I would like to wish everyone luck on their journey and I'm headed to go fishing somewhere in Ontario today from 11am to 4 pm wish me luck
If anyone know couple of places that I can fish here in durham region on shore please help me out and also if someone has a calender to see what's avaliable to catch during this month and next month and September I won't be winter fishing because I'm going to cuba during the winter on vacation

Welcome to the forum!
Try doing a search in the forum...there should be old posts about places where to fish around your area.

Welcome aboard! I'm another depression victim, but getting out into nature is a definite way of alleviating symptoms. Fishing takes it that extra step. Good luck, and keep battling that demon!

Welcome to the most exciting time of the year for this forum.
I just want to say that although I believe in helping others (as I so often need it myself), it would be a mistake to share specific locations with someone you dont know (x100 if someone showed that spot to you). Instead, send them to well known areas and let them figure out the rest on their own. It is truly the most rewarding experience.

Welcome Ahmad, I have a close fishing friend who uses fishing for the same sort of relief from it glad to see it's helping you along as well. Have you tried the MNR Fish-Online website? You can search by area, water body or even fish species and it will give you a list of spots around you. Hope that helps!
