Chrome- thanks! Yah i had a canoe previously and fished this stretch alot and only ever caught one the kayak was great for just slow drifting and working the shaded shoreline.

Shawarma- unfortunatly i didnt. I tried throwing some dingers. And a black double blade spinnerbait. But got nothing. Any recommendations ?!?

best senko technique i've learned. watching your line for the initial pull.

I need to get a yak out there, I have only ever wet waded that stretch which is fun, but there is so much more river accessible in a kayak.

That structure screams creature baits to me. Depending on line strength and your accuracy, you can chuck it onto that structure and reel it off of it. .maybe bounce it off as it if you can as well. Possibly some jigheads to knock against it. When all else fails.. senko wacky style.. i'd do weightless and just let it drop.

nice. you actually caught there. better than i can say. I launched at the conservation area a few years ago to troll for pike or walleye in may. water was super clear and could see bottom no problem. but no action. but did catch a carp in the pond there.
i've wanted to try the grand again but i prefer lake fishing to river fishing and the grand is a bit of a trek for me.
that structure does indeed look like a hotspot for river smallies. and i'm sure there are a few hanging out there. but getting them to take it is another matter. i've casted at that kind of spot several times this summer on two local tribs but have gotten little action. but i did have one nice outing throwing weightless wacky rig with white senko like you were using and nailed a 1.5 and a nearly 3 pounder.

It's such an obvious area to cast out to that it probably sees the most pressure from anyone able to get there

Ive gotten better at locating structure where i think they may be holding. Now i dont waste time on just chucking cast everywhere. I see a rock, a branch in the water , shadey cover is whre i focus my attention and uts been paying off. I actually fish a spot where ive only ever seen two people back there fishing too.
Ill definetly throw some more cast at that structure next time out. And ill let yall know how she goes . Hopefully next time ill be able to video or two aswell!
If anyone has a kayak and wants to come out sometime im definetly down for some fishing and yakkin bros.
