After a terrible coho run last year...they returned this year with a decent run.  I put a lot of time in for these fish which are only in certain rivers along the North shore (in any numbers worth fishing anyway). I really wanted to get a red male with a large kype.  And while I came close last week, that fish was a little too beat up for me.

The really small ones are only 2 years old instead of 3 years like most of them, I guess this is there way on maintaining a population if something should happen to a certain year class.

I find these fish really interesting as they vary so much in size/colour/shape.  Which is why they often get misidentified up here.

If you guys have any coho pics lets seem them!

Awesome catch man! Big or small they all count.

I've never been out for the "Fall Fun", now I think I need to try it out.

Wish we had more Coho ops here in the south.
They were actually the stocked Salmon of choice here in the '70s and '80s.
I would take 1 Coho over 100 Chinnies. Matter of fact I don't even hit the tribs when the Chinnies are in.

Alfie

P.S. Please note this stocking Gods.
