Nice pick up!

What does the "s" mean at the end? Looks like it's new for this year.
Lx-6s denotes the smaller foot print of the new unit. Last year the lx-6 was on the same size body as the 7/9 which looked strange with the smaller screen size and was generally not needed.

Just an improved LX6; smaller footprint, smaller pack. Now it's 2 inches shorter and has the same size base as the lx5.

These digital flashers are meant to be "future proof" so the insides should all work the same. Who doens't like losing a couple of inches though?

actually both our answers combined are 100% thorough LOL

Good to know. I always thought the 6 looked awkward with the same base as the 7/9.
When ice fishing, it's best to pack as small and light as possible.
I used to carry an lx7 and a marcum underwater camera on some trips... was brutal.
Since then, I got an lx9 that has both camera and sonar in one. Bank account took a big hit, but wow... can't be on the hardwater without it!

Make sure you update the firmware
