Hi I am new to Ontario Fishing Forums. I live around the Goderich/Kincardine area. I was in Goderich the other day and I noticed there was a lot of people fishing on the river. what kind of bait/lures were being used ? Is the fishing still hot ? I would appreciate any tips, I know how to fly fish as well so there is no restrictions on tips !! Thanks

They are fishing for steelhead, and most will be using roe (eggs from salmon or steelhead) or worms or flies. An alternative is using flies or throwing spinners or small spoons.

Welcome!

I have family cottages in Kincardine/Port Elgin.  Big fan of the Saugeen.

Good luck

Beautiful stretch of water in Goderich. Try to make it out every 1st week of May ,the fishing can be phenomenal.
