Hi I am coming from Alberta this summer with big dreams of catching my first musky and need to set up a musky rod.
I don't want to end up with garbage that lets me down but seeing as I will probably only use it for a week or so I don't want to break the bank either.
Thank you for any and all input.

Only muskie I've ever caught have been unintentionally.
Usually on walleye opener.
My ultralight gear did the job. Lol
Only 5 lbers though.
I was so upset thinking I had a huge walleye on.

Seriously though.
For a once a year thing.
Any medium heavy rod and 2000 series reel will do rhe job.
Just make sure you have a good leader on.
Wouldn't waste my money on musky specific gear.
