I've caught 8-9" Atlantic on UC and I was really surprised they did not smolt out at that size. The ones I've caught at that size were starting to lose their red spots.

I have a good idea of where you are fishing and yeah, I nailed a bunch of them in the spring.
I'll be surprised to see them survive, the % is very low...wish they would use that stocking for other species but they seem determined to get the atlantic back in action.

there's been a few caught august - september for 3 straight years i've been in the river. Although the numbers aren't there. there's been a slight increase of atlantics on 4-10lb range. If you happen to catch one, conservation would appreciate your report as they're paying close attention it.

The Atlantic program is great for all of our migratory fish. The money invested in creek rehab projects or the video fish counter that will be installed in the ganny, will have a positive impact on other species. I believe this is the last "kick at the can" that the MNR is taking to restore the Atlantic population. The next few years are crucial! C&R! HANDLE WITH CARE!

That makes sense now that Ontario does have some Atlantic's, they are in the book after all. I didn't know that they are endangered so I will be sure to keep my distance and not fish for them.

It's hard not to catch them if they're right where you are. I find them very aggressive towards flies & eggs even when young.
