Hi. Looking to acquire a backup 8-9 wt fly fishing combo. Would like an 8-9 wt, large arbor, disc drag fly reel capable of left hand retrieve paired with a medium or med-fast action 10' 7 wt rod or a 9' 6" to 10', 8 wt or 9', 9wt - okay if either scuffed so long as in otherwise good condition and the combo needn't be super high quality so long as better than cheapo starter sets. Rod must have a "fighting butt". Please, no repaired rods.

In trade, offering up one of three recently tuned small engines:

1) a (white) 2x horizontal shaft 5hp Tecumseh that came off an Ariens dual stage snowblower with a damaged auger gearcase - points done, carb cleaned & rebuilt, valve clearances checked, oil changed, new gas line & fuel shut off valve, etc - has a geared flywheel & other provisions for an electric starter (not included)

or

2) a (red) 5hp Briggs & Stratton with a covered & enclosed carb inlet, so engine can be used for winter to fall applications (so long as it's not used in very dusty conditions) - came off a tiller in a deal I brokered betw acqs (buyer didnt like a red engine on a green tiller, so I removed this one & got Mr. Cheap & Fastidious a black one for an extra case of beer ) - cleaned it up and changed oil, cleaned carb, lapped valves, checked valve and points clearances, new crankcase gasket, etc - has a 3/4" diameter, 2.25" long horizontal shaft (if u require the shaft to be longer, u can effectively lengthen it by using a double pulley) and provisions for an elec starter (not incl)

or

3) a (black) 3.5hp Briggs and Stratton with a 6:1 reduction gear/gearcase - can be used to power anything from a roofer's ladder hoist to a cement mixer, an aerator, dethatcher, etc - got the reduction gearcase on a 3hp engine with a cracked block in a multi swap for my saltwater safe spinning reel and tranferred the case, carb, tank, air cleaner, starter shroud, cam and crankshaft onto a 3.5hp engine that was used in a high school small engine repair class and had no run time on it - cleaned carb & tank & air cleaner, new crankcase gasket, etc

If swapping for the reduction gear engine will also require a $50 top up as they are hard to come by and this one has a practically new block and like new compression and spark.

Installation not included. Throttle cable on the 5hp engines not included.

Can provide (more) photos of work done upon request. Will, of course, require pics of your combo.
