Few years back arrived 5am and parked above the graveyard hole.
Fished all day, arrived back to car and realized my keys were safely locked in the trunk.Punched out trunk cylinder . Figured it was cheaper than breaking a window.

Funny enough, same parking lot.... Realized my pin didnt have any line on it... luckily I had brought a single hand and spey, broke for lunch, ran to that little fishing J&S to spool up... Glad I did, ended up getting 8 that day.

I always have my pin & rod ready the night before. Tied 100 roe bags, every all set, except my sling bag with all my hooks & bobbers & leaders....I was at the river when I realized my sling bag was at home. Drive home, straight to bed....felt jittery all day and was able to fish late afternoon.

was able to escape for a couple of hours one day, grabbed my fly rod and left. got to the creek, got suited up, the top half of the rod didn't match the bottom half..... top half was for a spinning rod and didn't match. was a long ride home.....

Broke off everything so I had to redo my setup. When I was all done, I accidentally snipped my mainline instead of the tag end.

My list is too long, best. Years ago fish lake trout with spoons I pulled a new one out of package, installed hook and minnow and threw it over side of boat. Too bad I didn't attach it to the line, looked good fluttering into the depths.

Ive done that with my Live target, saw its slow sinking body in the depths as I scrambled to grab a net

Grabbed my pliers to remove hook.
Than tossed the pliers over the side of boat.

Ice fishing a stocked trout lake in Alberta. Realize I forgot the pin that attaches the handle to my hand auger. Desperate to fish after a long enough drive, I jam my needle nose pliers in the hole to secure the auger to the handle. Actually works and as soon as the auger punches though, I realize I'm only holding the handle and I look down to see my auger disappear into the darkness beneath the freshly drilled hole...

not me, but my dad this time.
2 years ago, he brought his boat up for some salmon fishing on lake o, couldn't have asked for a nicer day, blue birds skies, lake flat as glass for the entire day, and plenty of fish were caught.
we had just landed a fish and were resetting the gear, got everything put back away, and my dad starts looking franctically for something. says hes lost his sunglasses, and his g/f says did you knock them overboard? and she starts looking around the boat for them, half paying attention to what they were doing, i said what are you looking for? dad says my glasses, i had them on, and set them down, and now they're gone. so i look at him, and say what glasses? the ones that are on your face? he just starts laughing and says yea, those ones, wheres my drink. lol
