Hello Ontario fishing forum,
Im looking for someone who can shed some light on the nipissing fishery. Hopefully someone who has stayed at one of if not all of the lodges there. From what i can tell there is 3, Lakair, West arm lodge, and Mashkinonje lodge. My father is turning 50 and he wants to do a trip to nipissing for largies smallies and pike for the most part. Just curious as to which areas of nipissing we should be looking at and what lodge would be best.

Thanks.

Hey, A group (6) of us stayed at the West Arm Lodge last September to check it out. Our annual June fishing trip group (11) were looking for a new lodge for our June fishing trip. We arrived on a Thursday and left on the Monday (4 nights). The cottages are good, clean and right next to the water. The boats are well maintained 16' with 15hp motors - no live wells or fish finders. Frank and Cathy (owners) were great and very helpful.

We caught several large / small mouth, some small pike, some perch and 1 large Musky. Many of the large mouth bass we caught were over 3lbs with 1 weighing in just under 5lbs. The small mouths were a good size as well. The pike were all small, but not to say that they aren't there - we just didn't latch on to any. We did not catch any walleye, but we were not really targeting them. Anyway, we had a nice fish fry of bass and perch in front of our cottage next to the water. Add a couple of cold ones and it doesn't get any better.

As a result of this fall trip we are already booked for the opening season of Bass this June and again in September!

Hope this helps. Good luck!

Dusty
