Any advice would be appreciated Thanks!!

Aw salmotrutta that's not a nice way to try a newbie to this site, honest man, I can't afford an expensive fish finder or down rigger ball with temp gauge built in, I thought there might be an electronic out there that gives u a digital reading as you drop it down, when you hit your desired temp in this case I'm told 48-52 deg and you have you depth you can vertical jig or estimate the depth you need to fish your baits at, I'm not sure a pool therm would work cause it would change temp by the time you got it back up
Anyway guys thanks for,your help

As far as I know nothing exists other than cannon ball thermostats.

Sounds like an interesting idea, digital thermometer (something that connects to your phone perhaps)

Clip on fish-hawk? 100$ or so... clip on to a spare rod with a couple ounces of weight (maybe by an inline line counter to make the job easier)

Just spitballin
