excellent idea.
I've used those in my camping gear for years
Never thought about tackle box
How about silicone oil spray !
I mostly fish saltwater!
I fresh water rinse all my gear:
rods, reels, lures, afterwards
After drying,
I spray all my plastic skirted lures, steel lures, plastic lures & my reels,
Rod & guides and spool full of braided or mono, flouro line.
Forget "Real Magic" LOL !
Don't use cheap stuff use high grade pure silicone like CRC 808
Multi purpose stuff or food grade is not recommended
Pledge or mr sheen will work but not the scented stuff !
Rub it into your plastics let dry for 1 or 2 hours, reapply another coat if necessary.
If your skirts are stiff & brittle
Put them in just boiled water & agitate them for no more than 2 minutes
This will diss love any salts & removes the old sticky surface.
Towel dry, leave in an airy shadey place to dry
Then apply silicone oil spray.
After 6 Months Later All My Gear Is Still in Perfect Condition.
To clean your reels & lubricate your spool & line and long term storage.
Also as for spraying your line loaded spool, forget reel manic
Use silicone spray, don't be shy, you might improve your casting distance.
Keep your spool full of line.
A less than full spool of line is the single reason most people can't cast far.
And lots of people can't cast far due to lack of a full spool, or improper technique.
