So we managed to get out on the ice on Saturday the 1st on LOB. we were a little worried about the ice condition but after an initial survey, decided it was safe. There were a few pools and cracks from bubblers around docks, but other than that, we still had 12 inches. The ice turned pretty slushy by the time we were walking off. After another warm day was forecasted (today) we decided it was best to call it a season.
The fishing was good! we were able to land a few last lake trout which was really awesome. We had tons of schools on our screens (Whitfish I assume), but they weren't interested at all. All the lakers were caught on the holo greenie colour vibrato or live minnows just off of the bottom.
