Took a drive down to the Whitby shoreline today, man was I surprised at how high the lake is......

almost needed a boat to get there, Lynde Creek is over the road

you used to need a 6ft+ handle on the net to land fish on pier.....

They closed some sections of the harbor. Most of the beach is off limits. Same with Frenchman's Bay. Playgrounds are off limits. You need scuba outfit if you want to cross the bridge under liverpool....

Just a few more feet and I can finally justify buying this machine!

i took a walk down the path, and there is definitely a lot of beach front underwater!  i know at coburg beach the lifeguard towers that are normally high and dry, are now in the water.

the flooding not going down till at least mid july apparently.

i went out on a trib two weeks ago for pike opener in my inflatable. needed my waders just to walk on the dock to launch. all the cruisers boats that are supposed to docked are still up on their stilts in the parking lot of the boat club because their docks are underwater too.

i'm wondering if the high levels threw off the fish behaviour because i trolled for 2 hours and nothing. it's not uncommon to get skunked there but i will be going out again tomorrow to give it another try.

also wanted to go to TO islands but ferry ain't running for the same reason.

went back to that same trib and got skunked. very rare for me to go fishless two trips in a row to this place so i'm gonna go ahead and say the water levels affected the timing or behaviour of the pike in the river, which i have been to around 45 times in the past seven years.
