Hi Guys,

 

My name is Oliver and I like to fish!

 

I used to fish in England but haven't fished for a decade.

 

My Girlfriend and I are looking to get into it so we got some gear at Bass Pro and some licenses. 

 

We want to go out for some Bass this Friday. 

 

Questions! 

 

How do I know which lakes are open and the regulation are?

 

We live downtown Toronto, where can we go max 2.5 hours away where we're almost guaranteed to catch some nice bass? We would like to eat them.

Bass in the Kawarthas opened last Saturday. Anywhere else is not open until this Saturday. Go to Canadian tire and get a copy of the regs book it's free. Decide where you're going and check the regs book, it's devided into zones so it's easy.

Rice Lake would be a good place to start for some bass.

Outside?

Try the Trent River in Trenton. The dams are good, any current areas are good.

 

Just about any of the dams in the Kawarthas will have some bass hanging around them all summer.

 

Lake Erie, anywhere, is full of smallmouth bass. Its best with a boat but you can catch some fish from shore. Long Point Bay is pretty good.

 

The Niagara River, at the Whirlpool or the Glen, has some good smallmouth. The upper river around Fort Erie is good too.

 

Lake Simcoe is full of smallmouth. Cooks Bay, at the south end, is full of largemouth.

 

Georgian Bay, pretty well anywhere, is always dependable.

 

Worms on bottom will work. Try using surface lures for more fun tho. Twitch a floating Rapala on the top, you'll have a blast. heck, you can even try this in Lake Ontario right in Toronto.

 

These are all well known spots, but they're always productive.
