Got another question here guys. Im gonna be throwing some jitterbugs and F18's for pike, and am wondering if i should use a pike leader or just tie line straight to eye. I tried it couple weeks ago and those pike leaders were messing up the action. Also generally for jerk-baits, can you tie your line straight to split ring to get the best action or would it be better to use a snap or a Duncan Loop?

Steel or florocarbon Leaders will kill the action of a topwater because they sink. I would maybe get some heavier Mono as it floats and tie leaders out of that. Tying straight braid you will risk of getting bitten off.

Maybe using a heavy mono for topwater and a heavy fluorocarbon for jerkbaits. Use a loop knot for increased action on your lures.

Short section of heavy mono, 50+ is comfy for me , but ive used 25 in a pinch and was "fine"

I also use a short piece of 50+ Mono . 25 would be the lowest I'd go for a Pike lead , but still suffice if nothing else available
