Do you have problems catching fish close to your boat?

Aluminum boats are the biggest culprit, and some fish are more sensitive to a boat's signature in water than you can ever imagine. Have you ever heard it said; "My last boat fished way better than this one does". There is a reason. Check out this video and then go check your own boat. If you are not a believer, you loose!

I think fish are more spooked by the person on the boat than the boat itself

Non-Believer... Ill fish out of a laundry basket and catch fish .. I don't think the boat has anything to do with it .
more like the drunken sailor on the vessel spookin the fish
