Hey all,
I've recently discovered a public pond around 20-25 minutes drive away from where I live. I have several ponds behind my property, one which is right within my boundaries, I was wondering how I could transport bass and some bluegill from the pond to my pond, is it legal? And how exactly would I get the fish to my pond, it's about a 5 minute walk through some woods, it also has a small population of creek chubs. It has little vegetation and is about 5 feet deep with some branches and rocks for cover, aswell.

Why not try to fish your pond and see what you have? Transporting fish from one body of water to another is not allowed.

IT IS ILLEGAL TO:

1. Transport live fish, other than baitfish, taken from Ontario waters or to transfer or stock any fish into Ontario’s waters without a special licence to transport or stock fish.
2. Transfer live fish or live spawn from one body of water to another without the authorization of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.

If the pond is on your property and your property only then just pay a hatchery to stock your pond.

Also if it's your pond stock it with bait fish such as Blue Gills 2 years before you put Bass in so they can establish a breeding population.
There are some good articles on line based on the size of a pond how many feeder fish you should stock and how many predator fish. It's important to keep a healthy balance in you own pond so fish don't become stunted. Some harvest of baitfish such as Blue Gills and some Bass would be nessessary to maintain that balance.

If the Pond is not owned by you then leave it alone as legally you can not stock it and may damage a sensitive species you're not aware of.
