My son and I fished Balsam , Pigeon and Sturgeon Lakes the week of Oct 1 for Muskies . We had a pretty good week started off slow on Balsam 17 hrs only 2 follows and one hit from Muskies we did boat a couple small Pike . Pigeon wasn't much better only one boated and one follow we usually do a lot better on both these lakes . Good old Sturgeon Lake came through again and saved the week we boated 11 and had follows , hits and hooked and lost fish 24 other times in 4 days on the lake . Here are a couple pictures one is of a Walleye who hit a Bulldog .

Chubby walter for sure, we've had more walleye on dawgs/dusa's then musky! Sturgeon used to be my stomping grounds but I havent spent any time on it in the last 3-4 years. Your post definitely makes me want to go back, but we have been on the balsam ski's pretty good

We stayed on Balsam because the Muskies a bigger and the Tigers are getting bigger but this year we were not seeing the fish we usually did . Sturgeon is my favorite been fishing it over 20 years always do good on it for numbers . Here is a Tiger my son boated a couple years ago on Balsam

Awesome report. Pike is putting a huge dent on the Muskie population.
