In Topic: wilcox and the surrounding water bodies

Thanks for all your work-I live in Stouffvile and want to fish the surrounding area and apparently Musselman's Lake just north on Ninth line is virtually all private property-land ,water,surface of water and under the water-I surely don't want to be fined by someone reporting me.apparently good pike in thereand some good panfis(had recent crappie die-off and many large fish 9"-plus -were found dead and washed up)

Great pics and now thanks to you..I have the itch to get my line wet-I guess the pile of work will have to wait.And I guess it's Queen's Quay and not Ashebridges where I had intend to go-excellent early season(or is it late season?)pike.

IIRC the quality reels have a basic maintenance pamphlet with the reel itself 
and some even a a little bottle of lube oil.However 2 tips are to clean off all gunk from reel ,wipe down and always loosen the drag on spinning reels until the next trip.

In Topic: Using shrimp as bait?

Maybe it's the freshwater vs.saltwater thing?But I've used peeled (deshelled) crawfish to tip my jigs with good success-so I can't believe shrimp can be all that different.However I've noticed that bait shape does make a significant difference: a longer shape with fluttery tail(like a minnow or worm) will get strikes easier then a blob or irregular shaped piece.
