Hi folks, I’m Bill. I’m in the west end of Toronto. I came 18 months ago to Toronto after 25 years in The Netherlands. I was born just south of here in Ohio. But since 1984, I’ve spent 11 days in the states. So I’m no “bloody yank” either. I’ve fished consistently from 27 months of age when I first walked out on the ice, and wanted to stay longer than my father. All of it being fresh water. Now, I’m finally in paradise. However, until this season I have been limited to Grenadier Pond, the Islands, and the Grand River. All of them bus accessible. So I’m looking forward to your inner-city info. Now transportation has been secured. A 25 year old BMW R100RT. I’m a BMOA and Airheads motorcycle organizations member. Our basic motto; We wrench our own. Next is the Ontario driver’s license. I’ve spent most my work life as a welder, including civil and military aircraft piping. I also build furniture and cabinetry at home.
I’ve set myself up with a 4/5 weight fly gear, and look forward to playing with that for the first time since a teenager. I never meet a fish I wouldn’t try to catch so I’m up for any species. I’m spin equipped too. But I’m still a shore fisher, and probably for a long time to come. Or at least until an inflatable pontoon can be packed on a bike.
I’ll get that first report in soon…I hope
Stay dry, Bill
