Hi Tyee, welcome to TO and the forum.

What part of TO are you in, I ask b/c it can take 2 hours to get from the east end to west end of just the city due to traffic. I live in Scarborough (east) and there are lots of tribs east within an hours drive. I don't know about the west, I don't go that way much.

East Tribs:

1. Rouge River
2. Duffins creek
3. Oshawa Creek
4. Bowmanville Creek
5. Wilmot Creek
6. Ganaraska? not sure how long the drive is, I never been there but reputed as one of the best.

These are famed for steelies. I was on the Rouge today with Dann, nothing there. Hope this helps, and Happy B'day.

Yes, just make sure that you're fishing these creeks in the open section. Most of them are closed upstream from HW2, and Gannaraska you can only fish downstream from the first bridge. It is not going to be like in Victoria, I guess, but still fun to catch them here. Cheers!

Hi,

I am also a flyfishing addicted and also leaving on the west end of TO. I was in Amazon a couple of weeks ago, having great times there with my fly rod. But now I am back, I will be chasing some steelies soon. Maybe we will meet each other in some creek. Cheers!
