I picked up a spool of 10# (150 yards) today from BPS. It's really expensive - $23. I'm gonna put some mono backing on before I spool it. Heading to Nipissing Sunday to give it a try. I will let you know how it works !
Used to fish there all the time, it's definitely not prime season but they're still there for sure, theres a shoal near the bayview resort you'll want to drift, Ive always had my best luck there trolling with a wally diver or using a go get'r and worm with a bottom bouncer for weight. Panther martins work well too.
I have a 16' Tracker Targa SC with a 60 Merc 2 stroke and I love it. Bought it in 2005 and have had NO issues with it. My buddy had the 16' Lund Rebel. I've fished both and like mine better. Wider beam and deeper V. I think his model of Rebel is just mod V. Both good boats. Just my prefer.
