Bass season doesn't open until the 27th in Zone 17, but once it does my plan is to hit em' hard.

In the last couple of weeks I have caught bass up to 6+ lbs.

6lbs? i suggest you move your ass on and away from those spots...i caught a few oos bass this spring but nothing that big, lets hope those fish were off there nests

I really only keep fish on longer 1-2 week camping trips. Kept 2 pike and maybe 6 or 7 bass last year. Might keep 2 or 3 bass this year depending on the occasion.

Nothing is wrong with keeping fish, especially if you are letting a badly injured fish swim away.

Soft Plastics. Throw some jig's and topwaters, even during the day these bait's get the bass going at that time of year.

I don't see a problem with this issue. It is the people catching and keeping OOS fish that bother me and are breaking the law. Yes there might be a few extra seconds needed in taking a picture of a fish but it is the fact that we are so cautious and gracious of a large catch. Handle with care and it will be reflected in our fishery. Now if you are in water where you know there are lots of panfish around and your big bass has left the nest, try to get that fish back asap as the panfish like to get into a unguarded nest and have a feeding frenzy.
