I see..... This seems to be a very sensitive and much debated topic as I look at some other posts in this site.
In my opinion, I really think that fishing is a good time and positive. That is why, when someone ask me about some places to fish, I will readily tell them my favorite fishing places. I just believe that everyone should have fun fishing, and why not teach someone else to enjoy a good time?
However, I still respect that if the forum doesn't allow it, I will not post the specifics. I just wished that everyone is not so uptight about their spots, that would make such a better community of information for learning.

hi sorry i'm new to the forum. If from what I said though, I think is ok? I just mentioned if there was any fish in the Rouge, and confirming if it is only fishable below the cn tracks. As long as I don't say something like under the bridge holds fish.
On another note, i did go out to the rouge to check it out yesterday, and had no luck. the water was extremely milky. (hope this is alright)

wow thanks for the tips andy and everyone else. this is great info. i'm going to try them out for sure then.
one time in may. i saw a huge group of big trout about 30 or so in a pool, but they just wouldn't take worms and i had no equipment to target them either, so i sure know they are hard to catch. now i just need to time it right like you said. Thanks everyone.
I might try geting a noodle rod to see what advantages there are.
are there any noodle rods that can pack down to really small, because i like using travel rods and keeping my gear and weight as small as possible.

Hi i'm sort of new to this forum and trout fishing as well. I did catch a trout at this river last year but mostly just by luck. I mostly like to go for bass in the summer.
I would like to get more into targeting trout.
Other than a worm or roe, I was wondering if anyone use lures like the smaller mepps or panthers? I find they work really well with bass but not sure if the trout would take those.
Also, how do people usually time the runs? Is it after rain fall? sunny warm days?
Any tips would be appreciated.
I'm also looking to fish a lot more when april and may arrives.
