Hungry Steelie

25 May 2014 - 12:36 PM

Went out yesterday on a little guided centerpin lesson with Bryan from A Perfect Drift guide service. Had a blast and got into a few fish and definitely gained a lot of knowledge on reading the river. The 2nd fish of the day had another half digested fish stuck in its throat. Was pretty crazy!

Day off led to a great day out

23 May 2014 - 09:42 AM

Had the day off and the gf was working so i decided to hit a gb river thats fairly close by. I had my best day numbers wise going 5/9 although the fish were all on the smaller side. Worms happened to be the go to bait of the day and after running out i hit a pretty beat up little buck on a pink bag.

Was a fun day for sure and the weather was beautiful. Couple other people on the river but for the most part was nice and quiet.

Rods when not in use

10 April 2014 - 10:59 AM

Having some issues when breaking down my rod when i'm done fishing. Do you guys keep your shot lines and leaders attached when youre done fishing or does it all come off and get re-tied when fishing again. I have to experiment with the length of line out when i break my rod down so i can find a spot to place my hook and it just seems easier to cut the line at my main line swivel. This brings me to my next point...does anyone use a snap swivel when float fishing? seems it would be fairly easy to use a barrel swivel on your main line and attach your shot line to your main with a snap. would eliminate knots on the river if you pre-tied your shot lines and leaders. Thanks!

Not new but back

03 April 2014 - 04:55 PM

Hey everyone, haven't been on in a couple years but am getting back into fishing again. my fishing buddy is moving to alberta at the end of may and I'm always looking to meet new people with the same interest of fishing. float fishing is my preference although its been a while since I've been able to get out. i also chuck lures for salmon when the time is right. i do most of my fishing on the nottawasaga as i live in barrie. i'm looking to get out soon if anyone is interested. I'm 26 and currently laid off so plenty of time for fishing.
