Try the inner lagoons.. I haven't been there in a few yrs but when i was there the lagoons were very productive... I couldn't catch anything in the out islands facing the actual lake but apparently there are bigger fish there.

I'd say a spottail shiner... I've caught them on Lake Huron in bunches..

I hear Bronte harbor pier has some potential.. I'm gonna try it out sometime this summer.. I'd be happy with a few perch or Drum though! lol.. Not looking for trophy salmon....  GTA needs a good fishing pier... It's a shame that we have all this prime fishable water on Lake Ontario with no really good access spots that hold fish .. All other Ontario cities like Hamilton, Kingston, Ottawa, are much more fisherman friendly and productive....

In fact, don't even bother with GTA!  Go straight to Hamilton! lol

Lake Simcoe giant from a couple of autumns ago...  I've caught many .75lb to 1lb Rock bass from Simcoe, but this one weighed a little over 2lb.
