Roe wasn't doing to for me yesterday. Which was weird. Drifted it 10 times in the same spot that steel was then put on a bugger first drift it smacked it. Fish fought like a small salmon was pretty awesome. That's what I thought I had on. To begin with and I was so happy haha. Stupid boots. Haha.

Yes we are. It's written into the fish and wildlife conservation act that we are Co's as mentioned in the act.

Frankly I have worked 11 years in an urban environment so the intricacies of the act I do not know. Just the major / common offences.

I have no issues in confronting people when they're doing something blatant and have done it in the past.

Spool up with power pro braid and a fluro leader. Don't spool your entire rod with fluro has tons of line memory. Fluro is invisible to the fishes eye. Mono not so much. Mono has way more stretch so if you stretch it too much the line becomes weaker and spirals or winedy then fluro, braid has zero stretch no line memory, super sensitive, super strong and resists fraying against rocks or other cover while mono or fluro will break if the edge is sharp enough pretty easliy if a fish is on.

Throw braid and a 6ft leader on all of em.

i feel like this thread is a bit tilted towards "orientals". Littering, not obeying MNR regs and etc are dont by alot of peoeple of various backgrounds. Im chinese, and i do none of the above.

 

It seems that way, and no disrespect to orientals. And its a freaking shame I know a few Chinese and Vietnamese guys who fish responsibly and they are great guys and when I see or hear of crap like this it gives the good guys bad rep.  

Braid is the way to go. As Calvin said above 15-20 is all you need. Finish it off with a 10lb fluro leader around 6ft.

Also indicate if you are a noobie who has never used a fly rod. And indicate if your an experienced on the fly. Even if its just basic casting that is good enough for a noobie to learn.

Also if any experienced member has extra rods or flies and does not mind letting guys try it out indicate that as well I will mark it beside your name on the roster.


What To Bring:

If you got waders bring em. If you got a fishing vest bring it. Also pack light the lighter the better when wading. If you don't have waders try to get some I know its June and it will be warm out but if we are fishing Trout waters the water will not be too warm. And another thing if you really want to get into fly fishing get yourself a rod for the event. Bass Pro sells a nice White River starter kit for 110 bucks or something like that only think I suggest is to replace the fly line on it with something higher end. Bring water or food with you as well unless your going to pick something up once we move onto the fishing part of the day.

Its honestly funny how some creeks are over looked by most anglers but can hold amazing things like this. These creeks you should never take fish from just C&R and clean up the trash in or around it.

Hey guys myself and another member are planning a trip early to mid June to head up to the Timmins area to do some fishing. We might do portaging with a canoe but mostly looking for rivers to fish with a fly or spinning gear. If anyone has been up in that neck of the woods and could tell us where to fish send me a PM would love the help been looking online but can't really find any info. We were also looking at fly-in fishing but prices seem to be pretty steep with that too. We are looking to target trout, walleye, pike or bass.
