darn dude! Beautiful fish. I have zero buddies that fish. Trips like these are pipe dreams.

would prefer that over anything else on opener. would like to go out on a brookie trip myself this weekend if my schedule clears up.

Pretty much. Just letting the stream do the work. In the slower pools I do a slow strip, strip, stop.

better than I did..a big zero on opener...Still worth it!

You know what they say "a bad day fishing is better than a good day at work".

Instead of dealing with the crowds at the big tribs I decided to hit up some small stream brookies close to Barrie.

4wt in hand I headed out to my honey hole on Saturday but got skunked. The fish were there but were spooked out by any little bit of movement, wind included.

I decided to try a new spot I've never fished on Sunday and was rewarded almost immediately! Tossing small beadhead nymphs I hooked into a few small guys early on and closed the day with a nice 9 or 10 inch spec. Not bad for a creek I can jump across!




I hope the rest of you fellas had a good time on opener and at least got a fish or two.
