Battery for fish finders

The other morning I was trying to charge my battery for my fish finder, to no avail. Must be pooched, so I got a little creative. I have an 18v makita drill set, so i took one of the battery's from it and hooked it up to the finder, and surprisingly it worked. Ran for about 4 hours on one battery, don't know if this helps anyone but it sure helped me.
