Anybody have experience making their own spinners? I can't see it being too hard, but if there is any advice about tools, wire diameter, and other details, I am all ears.... and post 'em up if you made 'em.
Thanks

Happy New Year, OFF regulars.
This year I took up float fishing which has been a lot of fun despite the fact that I have only been able to make it out for a few trips since the fall. Now that the season is over in my area and I still stink of skunk, I was wondering if I could ask a few questions to the seasoned float anglers out there.
- Shotting my line for low water levels and small creeks...I understand the trick is to bulk the shot, but should it be bulked under the float only, or should I bulk in in a couple places? Above the leader only, or should I put some on the leader too? When is it a good idead to taper shot?
- Roe bags... how big should I tie them? I have been experimenting with bags about the size of nickels and dimes. Also, do you just hook them through the mesh, or do you secure them with a bait loop knot on the shank?
- Hook size... how big would you recommend for small creeks or big water? I have been experimenting with size 10 through 6...
Thanks to all who are willing to put in their $.02. Tight lines in '14.
