Hey, I went to a river in a beautiful country called Canada yesterday that was on fire!!! I really mean it...
thing is, I ran out of mono and used my old and faithful braid that I took from my bait casting reel coz I didn't want to lose time going to a store (I had only 1.5 hours for fishing).
As soon as I made the first casts, I noticed the drifting was quite unusual and the belly was a bit bigger than usual. Has anyone had that problem when using centerpin and drifting with braid?

First of all, I would say, I'm not playing a hero role here but just expressing my concern and wonder if you have had similar experiences and what you have done. I went yesterday to the river, the water was clear but still a lot of salmon activity; we started using roe but 45 minutes after, not even 1 single bite despite there were lots of fish in the pool; in the shore, suddenly 2 guys appeared and started to cast triple hook spoons to the spot where the fish congregates; come on!! are you kidding me and think that I don't know what you're trying to do? the water was so shallow! how the hell would you even think in casting heavy spoons?? well, they made it, 3 cohos in less than 20 minutes, all of them snagged by the tail or the fin; The guy beside me told me this is the 2nd day in a row they show up and do the same with those spinning rods and lines thick as ropes.
I thought in calling the MNR but I forgot my phone at home and anyways sure they would say: we'll take you information and we'll check; then they won't show up until 5 hours later or the next day....I know that they're busy these days but this is just outrageous....

Help with the leader

Hi all,
quick question here: I'm using a seaguar 12 lb/test special leader material line when fishing salmon; today I went to the river and hit 3 big guys but all of them broke my leader in less than 3 minutes fight....this never happened when used my old spiderwire regular line as leader.
I have to mention that I had to put 2 splitshots due to the light fly i was using and the current was stronger than usual..... when checking the line, it was broken right where the splitshots were; note that I didn't tighten it with pliers, only with my fingers.
I was thinking in a bad leader quality or maybe I'm the one using splitshots when I shouldn't..... Anyone with similar experiences or advise on this issue?
thanks so much.

White/Red X-large cup brigade strikes...again

Since there are people sensitive to the nick here, just decided to spit it out in a different name; in the end we all know it's pretty much the same.....I went to the credit yesterday for some biking just to see if there were anglers around and what they were catching....I saw a guy with a red bucket right beside him catching 2 shiners and a little bass ( I mean little) of no more than 2 inches I swear!! and putting them all directly to the bucket...all this in less than 10 minutes.
I thought...really???? so I asked him "hey bud, you think those little ones won't make you even a sandwich?".......for some reason I was expecting his answer: " no english, no english".....holy crap.. and what else could I do???? I know shiners are not protected species, but,.....really? in the end I think they play a role in the freaking ecosystem..... so why just not release them? it will not make your hunger go away by no means!!!!
what's wrong with these people!!!!!????
