Hey folks!
A friend and I have been fishing together for years but have mostly gone to lakes up north targeting pike, musky and bass from time to time. Last year we tried credit river because when we heard such a nearby river was a hotspot for trout and salmon in the fall, we couldnt be happier. Unfortunaetly we left with nothing and knew it was because of our inexperience and lack of knowledge. If anyone would be so kind to help me study up for this september it would be greatly appreciated!. I just really want to learn some basics like, what kind of tackle to use and what not. From what i heard (and what we tried last year) is to put some salmon eggs on a hook and leave it on a float, this didnt quite work out for us so any help would be appreciated! Also are spoons or crankbaits ever used
In seasons like this?

Best techniques to fish for carp
22 July 2012 - 06:12 PM
A friend and I were planning on Fishing for carp in the mississauga area. We were originally after smallmouths and what not in the credit river area but have heard good things about the lake promenade and marie curtis park. Unfortunatly all we really know is that using corn is a good option. Can anyone help me understand how to fish for carp a little better? How much corn on a hook, how deep should i let the hook sink, good habitats ans bad ones for carp, times of day, any help would be greatly appreciated!
Marie Curtis Park?

I've heard that Marie Curtis park is a good spot for carp but I have had no luck there lately. I went the last 2 mornings from 5:30am to about 8am to no avail. I chummed the area with some corn then left out my own line with about 4 pieces of corn on the hook, not even a bite all day. Has anyone had success at Marie Curtis park recently? I was at the very end of the river, close to the mouth of Lake Ontario.
Best places to be In mississauga from July-October

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and I was just wondering If anyone has some really good recommendations for spots in mississauga, and possibly the GTA (not too far from Mississauga though). I do not really have any specific fish to chase, I just simply love fishing and enjoy going for anything over 2lbs really. I am most interested in Bass and Pike though. Can anyone give me a few recommendations on where to fish and when? I heard credit river is amazing in the fall for trout but it's only early July. I have read some of the older posts on this forum and have seen suggestions such as Port Credit shores by the Promenade, which I have never been a big fan of, I have also read Marie Curtis park which I went to this morning at 5:30am with a friend and stayed until about 9, with no luck at all. I heard Credit Valley is really good but is there any spot in specific because it is a very long river.
Thanks in advance for the advise guys!
