Conestogo river

24 July 2015 - 05:22 PM

Hi: I was on the conestogo river last weekend and a saw a couple of people pull some browns out near wallenstein. I was fooling around with some crankbaits, spoons and a spinner. Because the water was so shallow it was hard to get the right lure that wouldn't sink right to the bottom.

The spinner really seemed to work the best, but I didn't get anything. Any thoughts on fishing for browns on the conestogo or other parts of the grand? Thanks! Simon

Fishing near Dunnville on Lake Erie

09 August 2014 - 03:32 PM

Hi we're staying at a cottage around here (https://www.google.c...54965bf4a7279edat the end of August.

We will have access to a rowboat (so we can't go out that far, I guess), and we'd like to do some fishing.  It's kind of a complicated family reunion, so we can't make things to complicated equipment-wise.  I'm looking for the best information about what fish might be available there and how to get them?  Really basic stuff. I have low expectations, but any info would be of use? Like what do walleye go for? Is that what will be active then? How far out does one have to go to have a chance to get them? What kind of set up works best?

Thanks for any insights!

Simon
