Don't you just love live target? I've caught so many fishes on the perch and bluegill pattern. Have you tried the live target jointed perch one yet?

For bass youd be hard pressed to find a lure easier and more effective than the Senko. Pick yourself up a pack of 5" Gary Yamamoto Senkos. Keep colours simple. Something Black or something green.

Rapala X-rap in yellow perch pattern or clown. Great for multi species.

heres a great little series that is geared towards new anglers specifically for bass fishing.

Everyone needs Yamato senko in their tackle. I've caught hogs using the 5 inch baby bass and pink coloured senko. As for hard bait size 11 husky jerk in yellow perch and clown. Wouldn't kill ya to carry a bunch of x raps as well

leader is not a must for me but I'll use it once in a while if I feel like.
When my arm get tired quick (need to work out), I just place the butt end of the rod to my belly which result in pulling the fish harder than I wanted to and 27lb leader I have used works fine.

For those using leader, which knots do you prefer?

I use Palomar knot for the swivel and trilene knot to my snap swivel. I've had no issues with slippage running those 2 knots
