Thanks for the kind words.

Pump - I highly considered it but where it dropped it's about 8-10 feet or more. It's an extremely soft muddy bottom with weeds mixed in and a current. I tried for a log time with a long handled net and all I got was covered in mud. I figured if I blindly dove down there feeling around it would end up with me freezing my ass off and still no camera. Had the water been a bit clearer , and a hard bottom. Would have been down in a heart beat!

The underwater one was taken with a GoPro Hero 3 Black Edition - the one out of water is GBA's camera, which I think is a Sony.

I just picked up a magenta filter for the GoPro as well, which should filter out a lot of the green over-saturation in my underwater shots - looking forward to trying it out!

Is that the cover that goes right over your lense?? I seen that online and could not for the life of me figure out why you would want all red pictures LOL.. Thats wild.. please post a picture/pm me with results if you dont mind. Might look into getting one myself. Thanks.

If your going to the whirlpool make sure you use the wooden stairs.. Theres two main parking lots for getting down there, one is a larger parking lot that has steel stairs, thats for the glen area more so.. the wooden stairs parking lot is a smaller lot, and that heads basically straight down to the whirlpool. The trail has changed this year with a couple landslides and the weather, so be careful. Did it the other day in the dark it was a nightmare lol so wait for daylight or bring a good flashlight..

Also there are some major ice shelves there, so pick your spots wisely.. Especially with the up and down weather conditions.

Goodluck, hopefully you get into some!
