Bay of Quinte

26 January 2015 - 11:52 PM

Hey guys, I've just booked a guided ice fishing trip on the Bay of Quinte with a few friends. We're fishing for walleye. I'm pretty excited as this is my first guided trip on the ice. I'm just curious to know if anyone knows how the fishing on the bay has been this year and what to expect as I've never fished it. Also wanted to know if anyone has had any experience with our guide service. We booked a trip with Quinte hardwater specialists www.quintehardwaterspecialists.com we have it booked for February 1st. Thanks! 😃

Not the summer I was expecting.....HELP!!

05 July 2014 - 05:18 PM

Hey guys, Recently in the last 3 weeks i moved from my amazing apartment on an Island along the Ottonabee River in Peterborough to rooming with a friend down in Cambridge. trust me not what i wanted because i could catch walleye and musky off my deck if i wanted back in Peterborough. but other tenants in the house had no respect for my property and constantly would steal from me. even found out they had a key designed for my part of the house. (they deny the whole thing to anyone but me)

Anyways, i found that the moment i went fishing here its almost a completely new river for me. there are some parts that are so shallow that there's nothing but weeds every cast. i'm completely lost at how to fish this river. so far out of 5-6 fishing trips out here I've managed to catch 1 bass and a small crappie. I've heard that you can catch pike up here and that's on my bucket list to catch. to make a long story short. if anybody has any tips whatsoever whether it be go-to lures or some good spots they wouldn't mind letting me know of (feel free to PM me) that would be a huge help. i just really want this summer to be a good one and not get skunked!!!

also if anybody would like to meet up with me and go for a fish in the area. just give me a PM i'd love to learn some of the spots and meet some local fisherman with the knowledge of the rivers!

I'll be sure to include some pics in another post if i catch anything next time i go out!!

Cheers!!

Hey guys just figured I'd post this since this is a recent discovery of mine. So about a week ago I emailed a bunch of random fishing company's asking for stickers. After a couple days about 30 of the 50+ companies agreed to send me free stickers one even sent me a free hat!! Anyways just figured if let y'all know this is available if you put the time in. I'm going to post a pic of what I've received so far! I'll update this as the stickers come in

Cheers!!

Bay Of Quinte!!!

07 February 2014 - 02:28 PM

Man I've missed this Forum! I've been so busy lately with exams and my new job I haven't had time to spare! Anyway, I've just been given the opportunity to go on 3 day ice fishing trip on the Bay Of Quinte!!! Three of my lifelong buddies paid for a trip and bought a 4 person group package with a Group of guides they invited me along As a Birthday gift. Obviously I jumped right in! I guess the way it works is we go up on the Friday of the 21st of this month and arrive at this lodge by noon. then at that point do six hours of fishing on Friday, 12 hours on Saturday, and a final 6 hours on Sunday. That's all I've been told for this trip. My buddies aren't saying much else (Maybe have a surprise planned for that birthday weekend?) Anyway, The thing is I've never been on a guided fishing trip with Professional Guides. and I'm really just curious how this kind of thing would work? Everything I've said here is all I've been told. Also, I've never been fishing even close to the Bay Of Quinte. What can I expect to catch up there? Would the Ice still be thick enough in late February? I mean I don't go ice fishing often, and Don't know at all what to expect from a guided ice fishing trip. If any of you guys have ever been on a guided Ice Fishing Trip and wouldn't mind sharing your experiences that be great! The 21st couldn't come any faster!!

Tight Lines

Oh and I'll be sure to post an update on the outcome of the trip right after it happens!
