In Topic: Help with Rice Lake

I was there a couple weeks ago for our honeymoon.  We caught a large mouth, a walleye, and lots of pan fish.  Worms seem to work the best there.

One day we were out on the boat and we saw schools of bass in a bay, so we headed there and were in the middle of all these bass.  and NOTHING.  It's definitely hit or miss.

In Topic: Illegal to throw goby's back?

This is an extract from the regs:

ROUND GOBY

WHAT YOU CAN DO...
Report new sightings. If you catch a round goby it should be
destroyed and not released back into any waters.
Always dispose of your unwanted bait and the contents of your
bait bucket or bait bucket water on land or in the trash. It is illegal
to dump the contents of a bait bucket into any waters or within
30 metres of any waters.
Never use gobies as bait.Itis againstthe lawto use gobies as bait
or have live gobies in your possession

Okay so it SHOULD be destroyed, but that doesn't mean it's illegal to throw it back. Just trying to get an understanding of this.

You shouldn't throw any fish from one lake into another.  That's just a bad idea all around.

I was up at rice lake a couple weeks ago for our honeymoon and did catch a walleye.  It was a random time (i'm thinking between 4 and 6pm), and I was just using a worm and dragging it on the bottom of the lake.  It was an inch too small so we threw it back.

My husband caught a nice sized large mouth off the dock, and we ate him (that was our first night there).

Mainly we go for pan fish.
