Your favorite Lure/Bait for Bass
18 September 2013 - 06:21 PM
So this weekend I am going to a small Bass tournament at my friends cottage. The Lake holds LM and SM Bass, Rock Bass, Lake trout and the odd perch. Most of the guys like to use live baits, but I stick to lures. I stocked up on lures for this tourny and I am just dying for the weekend to come. The three lures I think will be most effective for are my Clackin Rap, My Hula Popper and Just a Good old Tube jig with some scent inside it.
What would you guys use for a Big old bass this time of year?
Mepps Thunder Bug?

Whats up everyone. Today I grabbed a 4-pack of Mepps Thunder Bugs and was just wondering if anyone else uses them. I have never tried them before, I I usually use the Black fury from mepps. Also I usually use a siwash hook on my black furys, anyone use these hook on thunder bugs? Thanks alot in advance, hope I did throw away $20 lol.
Lookin to grab a new rod/reel
29 August 2013 - 07:24 PM
Whats going on everyone. I was looking to grab myself a new rod soon, and possibly a reel. I have never used Bait casters before and was considering switching over, but before I do I want a nice spinning rod/reel combo to fall back on if i dont like the caster. I was looking at Falcon rods, they look pretty nice, but im not sure. Anyone have any ideas of what I should checkout. Max I want to spend on the rod is $200. A new reel isnt a must but if I decide to get one max i'll spend is $250. I know for this price I wont get the greatest setup but it will be an improvement from what I got. Please give me some ideas.
Thanks alot.
I must not be the only one fed up....

Whats up guys. So I went down to bluffers park today to do some Bassin over on the storm water ponds. There were a few guys also fishing the pond area so I went to start my round of hellos, and have any luck yet yada yada yada. As I look down there were quite a few buckets full of dead bass, im sure which are way to small to legally keep. Must have been about 30 bass between 3 guys that were fishin there. There were also a load of catfish, sunfish and even crawfish in the buckets. They seemed to know what they were doing and you can tell they hit this spot often, which pisses me off. Not the fact they fish there, the fact that every little hunk of meat that comes out the water they keep, no matter the size, no matter the species. AND to add on it all they toss their garbage everywhere, leaving styrofoam cups and poop floating in the water. So I say to them, wow looks like you got a lot of fish in them buckets, and of course they all respond "no english". It took all my willpower( literally) not to toss them all in the water( im a Big boy, i coulda done it). I know it is just a storm water pond, and I may sound crazy, But I love to fish, and dont have much options around me livin in toronto with no vehicle. But when I see guys like that disregarding every rule put into place, it drives me crazy. PLEASEEE tell me I am not the only one that feels this way....And if I am, can anyone recommend a Shrink...LOL
