Id say at minimum
2 rods or tip ups
Hand auger
Sled or backpack (recommend sled)
Some kind of heater cause u will get cold. It's nice to at least warm your hands.
That's basically all my buddy and I started with. Bought an adapter for the auger to attach it to a drill (works great), and we picked up a 6 man hut
. Also, don't cheap out on the auger. I did and bought a new one after two trips out. Ended up with 6 inch swede bore. I think it was 100 bucks or so.
