Hi everyone. Can anyone give me some info on Miller Lake around Lions head. I've never been there before. Heard there was walleye and perch in it.

So, Miller lake was a bust for me. The wind was so bad up there it would have blown my hut away. Was pushing me across the ice. Also, there wasn't anyone else on the lake. Made me wonder if the lake was closed to ice fishing. Didn't want to chance a fine.

I always do a smoke a sacrificial to the fish gods too. Helps me git en done. Oh, and of course a celebratory after catchin one!!

The water there is on the rise too, so if you do go, be carefull, it can get pretty dicey down there with the ice and mud slides this time of year. Personally I would wait till the water is on the drop.

Actually, you have to fish below the old bridge embutments that are below the dam. Open all year from there down to the mouth.

Welcome Dave. You should enjoy your okuma. I bought one last year as an upgrade from a Stanton and I love it. Good idea to get used to the reel before an upgrade to the 13 footer. That's what I did too. Hope you enjoy it and good luck. It is definitely a learning curve. I'm in guelph and I do a lot of fishin around here.
